Easter Sweet Treats

Sorry there are currently no Projects to display.

Supplies

  • Guittard Melt ‘n Mold Candy Melts
  • Metal/copper Cookie Cutters
  • Candy Sprinkles
  • Glass Bowl
  • Wilton Disposable Decorator bags
  • Small spoon or knife for spreader
  • Wax Paper
  • Microwave Oven
  • Cookie sheet or pan
  • Clear treat bags and ties

Directions

  1. Prepare your cookie cutters by washing them and drying them completely. Set aside. Cut wax paper into pieces at least 2” larger all around than the cookie cutters, set aside.
  2. Melt the candy wafers in the microwave oven according to the directions. The easiest way to melt the candy wafers is to use the Wilton Disposable Decorator bags. Place the candy wafers into the bag and leave the bag open. Place the bags upright inside of a glass bowl. Microwave until chocolate is melted. Chocolate will stay warm and liquefied longer than if you melt the candy in the bowl directly.
  3. Place your cookie cutter onto the wax paper with the sharp edge down and place on a cookie sheet or similar. Cut off the tip of the decorator bag with the melted chocolate. Gather the open end of the bag and begin to squeeze out a layer of chocolate inside of the cookie cutter. Try not to move the cookie cutter.
  4. You want to fill the cookie cutter only about half way. You can layer flavors of the candy melts. Use a small spoon or knife to smooth out the chocolate. Add candy sprinkles to the top layer for a festive touch. The bunny face was created by separating the candy sprinkles and using to make face details. The ducky was done in the yellow lemon flavor and the details were added with melted chocolate piped out through a small hole at the decorator bag tip.
  5. Place the filled cookie cutters into the refrigerator for about an hour to harden the chocolate. You can either pop out the candy piece from the cookie cutter or leave them in. Bag candy piece in a clear treat bag and tie with a ribbon. Tuck your treats into an Easter basket and share them with family and friends.  Don’t forget to make some for yourself!
