Supplies

  • 1 qty. 12” x12”Artist Canvas #30022093
  • 2 qty. paper Mache Sandal boxes #30044246
  • Ceramcoat Acrylic Paints:
    • Lime Green #77628321
    • Black #77624890
    • Tahiti Blue #30084951
  • Alphabet Stickers or die cut letters
  • Loose flower heads
  • Glue pen or glue stick for die cut letters

Note: You can use other colors of the acrylic paint for this project.

Tools

  • 1” Sponge Brush #10109
  • Fine tip paintbrush
  • Low Temp Glue Gun & Glue sticks

Directions

  1. Paint the top and edges of the canvas with the bright green acrylic paint. Let dry.
  2. Remove the “sandal” tops of the paper mache boxes. Paint the edges of the tops with the black acrylic paint. Let dry. Paint the top of the “sandals” with the Tahiti Blue acrylic paint. Let dry. Paint the outside of the box bottoms with the black acrylic paint. Let dry.
  3. Use alphabet stickers or cut out some from cardstock using a die cutting system. You will need to assemble the phrase “Your Slippahs are always Welcome at our House” Arrange the decorative components onto the canvas, following the pictured sample as a guide. Place letters onto the canvas. Place the painted sandal boxes onto the canvas. Place the flower heads onto the canvas. If using die cut lettering, use the glue stick/pen to glue to the canvas. Use the glue gun to glue the sandal boxes and flowers onto the canvas.
  4. You can display the finished piece on a metal easel or add a hanger and hang on the wall.
