NOTE – The story behind Flat Leilani, Flat Stanley’s cousin:
Some of you may have heard of Flat Stanley. Maybe you or your kids have done this
project. For those of you who haven’t heard of this fellow, here’s the background story.
Flat Stanley started as a 1964 storybook by Jeff Brown. In 1995, school teacher Dale
Hubert turned it into a project to promote letter writing. Many elementary school
teachers participate in this project and it connects students from schools all around the
world. You never know, one day, a Flat Stanley might even show up in your mailbox for a
visit. Or maybe his cousin, Flat Leilani!
